Recycling Tips
1.There is no need to wash your recycling containers with fresh water as we are in a drought. Try to conserve water by rinsing bottles and jars with left over dish water from the sink.
2. Food waste is not allowed in your recycling bin. Please use your garbage bin or compost. 3. Remember to place your recyclables loosely into the bin. Don't use plastic bags.
4. Don't place green waste such as lawn clippings, branches and leaves into your recycling bin. Use your green waste bin.
5. Plastic wrap bread, plastic shopping bags, cling wrap should all be placed in your garbage bin. Try and avoid using these products when possible.
6. All hard plastic containers used in the home can be placed in your recycling bin. Just remember to give them a clean out first.
7. Nappies are “NOT” allowed in the recycling bin. Some manufacturers say on the packaging that the plastic wrap is recyclable. Unfortunately in the kerbside system it is NOT. So leave the plastic wrap from the nappies and the dirty nappies out of the recycling bin.
8. Clothing, shoes and general apparel are “NOT” acceptable in your recycling bin. If they are in good condition, drop them off to your local charity.
