SKM Recycling's, sustainability philosophy is not a new concept or recent practice. Years before communities began asking companies what they were doing to minimise environmental impacts, SKM Recycling were examining their operations, asking questions, funding innovations that saw positive environmental benefits and giving staff the power to question, recommend and be a positive part of SKM's sustainability record.
SKM Recycling are also voluntary signatories to the Australian Packaging Covenant which is an initiative by Government and Industry to reduce the environmental effects of packaging.
It is designed to minimise the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging, conserve resources through better design and production processes and facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials. Part of this commitment is the development of a 5 Year Action Plan that after internal review, details SKM's commitment and establishes measurable KPI's that underline the values of the APC.
