SKM Recycling has been collecting Hard & Green Waste from Councils and Shires for many years.

Items included as hard waste are:

Whitegoods (such as fridges, washing machines, etc).

Batteries.

Aluminium.

Furniture.

Electrical Appliances.

Old tools and lawn mowers.

China ware and window glass (must be heavily wrapped and marked "glass").

SKM Recycling has also provided a service for bundled green waste for many years. This service complements the green waste service collected in the 240lt bins

Each city council or shire (listed below) has at least one annual collection. All hard waste must be put out on your nature strip and cannot be larger than 1 cubic metre. Hard waste is stacked neatly the night before collection. Hard Waste placed on kerb needs to be lifted by two people.

The following times cannot be included in your hard waste pickup:

Green waste or recyclables.

Oils or liquid wastes.

Materials from buildings, constructions or renovations (rubble, hazardous waste, etc).

Car or truck tyres.

Waste from industrial and commercial operations.

Car bodies or large car parts (such as doors).
